What place does wallet-messaging have vs NWC?

There’s a pretty good article written up on Bitcoin Magazine for Nostr Wallet Connect. It’s worth checking out nwc.dev for more technical context.

From what I understand NWC depends on a sever (outside of the Nostr relay). How relevant / useful is wallet-messaging given such solution exists?
