We want you!... mobile dev

Edit: position has been filled (see end of post) πŸŽ‰

We're looking to round out our team with one more spot now... a mobile dev who's comfortable working with React Native.

We're looking for someone who's excited about helping folks gain visibility into and make smart decisions with their stacks.

You might be interested if:

  • you're curious about our different take on wallet UI/UX

  • you're interested in how to work with external services from in a wallet

  • you'd like to explore how new things like stablesats can fit into an existing wallet paradigm

A recap on what we're building

Folks everyday are onboarding to bitcoin and actually using it in their day-to-day lives. Circular economies are springing up all over the world, and the idea around "bitcoin for communities" is really starting to catch on.

As new folks come onboard, one of the first hurdles they must deal with is bitcoin's day-to-day volatility. As someone who earns and spends in bitcoin but who's unit-of-account is in another currency, there is a significant challenge in learning how to navigate the price fluctuations and make good decisions with their new stacks.

We think this is a problem that can be tackled through good UX, and we're working on figuring how to make the task of DCA-ing and knowing when's good to spend your bitcoin as intuitive as possible.

What we have

Design

Agyei and Chris joined the team after reading one of our early posts and they'll be tackling the UI/UX designs around what we're building.

They're skilled designers who are just now stepping into the bitcoin space.

The missing puzzle piece

"Frontend" dev

We plan to bring together the designs and application logic in a react-native-based mobile app, initially targeted at just Android users.

We're looking for some who can take the figma designs that we will be iterating on and the application logic we'll be building out, and turn these into components that can be brought together in a mobile app.

The App

The plan is to have an apk at first, and then to try to get a proof-of-concept launch in the Google Play Store to be used in some growth hacking ideas we have brewing for the later stages of the tournament.

We're thinking to have a connector interface (similar to Alby) where folks can connect their existing wallets to import historical transactions, and can send/receive from right in the app. Arvin has also worked on the current Galoy connector for Alby.

There won't be a StackorSpend API, but rather we'd like to:

  • store connection secrets locally on device

  • store transaction data in a local SQLite database

We also have some ideas around experimenting with Galoy's new stablesats feature and API!

Reach out!

We're curious to see if anyone actually sends a sats comment!
