Talking Hackathon & DoorMan @BostonBitDevs
Two members of the DoorMan team attended the Boston BitDevs socratic seminar in July to discuss:
-
AI4ALL hackathon
-
Max Webster's white paper - "How (Actually) Open AI Wins"
-
see full agenda here
The seminar run with Chatham House rules, but I can say there was lots of excitement for this idea, and the way it can empower the opensource community. A couple of specific points worth mentioning:
-
This apparently is an idea as old as Chaumian e-cash, where that community
-
Also mentioned was that George Hotz mentioned a similiar idea, "FLOPcoin" on a recent Lex Fridman.
-
The idea of verifiability of an AI computation, in other words how do you know your image or text generation came out of the advertised model, was most hotly debated. Imagined that a level one, would be a community based striking protocol, like AirBNB ratings. And level two would build some verification into the contract of the lightning payment itself! By combining a hash of the {Input, ModelWeights, Output} you could commit to a certain result, and receive some kind of justice transaction if you gave the wrong output.
Teammates were solicited, and two people were interested in collaborating but ultimately ended up not being able to find the time. DoorMan team is invited back in August to give a demo of their app, and talk about other great projects in the hackathon!
