PPPs: Week 4 🚀
Plans 📆
-
Create content and prepare for @secondl1ght's presentation at Adopting Bitcoin.
-
Optimise some of the Web App code to increase performance.
-
Continue to build the number and breadth of Communities.
-
Develop our thinking on how best to increase the data quality in general on the platform at we still have 5,500 legacy locations that need verifying. Communities and gamification will play a part here for sure.
Progress ✅
-
We delivered on our Week 3 plan shipping pin cluster optimisations across Web and Android, search, merchant category filters and category specific icon pins. We think the apps are looking a lot better as a result! 😍
-
We had a major push by our volunteer team of Shadowy Supertaggers, almost eliminating what was once a 1000 backlog of new merchants that had been submitted by our Noob form on the website. We now have only a handful of these Noob locations left to process. 💪 What is great to see is that is a community-led process, which is what is needed to scale.
-
We had a big boost in Community submissions and we now have 41 in total spread across the globe. So many in fact, that we modified the Communities page to be split by Continent and show a nice graphical summary at the top.
-
Nathan Day also recorded a podcast with Dan Prince for the Once Bitten show.
Problems ✋
-
The iOS app is still feeling a little unloved and so if there are any iOS devs looking to help them please let us know.
-
Our original designer has had to focus on other (paid!) activities and so there may be some bits of design work coming up that we could use input on. Are you a designer and do you like maps?!
