Next week will be all about building the mobile app. Our goal is to create an app version 0.0.1 with the following capabilities

  • Create a bitcoin wallet behind the scenes on app installation

  • Scan qr-code

  • Retrieve, decode and sign the LNURL from a lightning enabled web app such as Bolt.Fun

  • Successfully sign in with basic error handling

We will build it in react native with bitcoin development kit and LNURL-auth.

Progress βœ…

A lot has happened in the last week. One big thing was our name change. We decided to change name because we didn’t think our old name, Global ID, matched our customer values and our vision of the service. Additionally, another authentication service with the name Global ID already exists. After some brainstorming we found a new and better name, Get In!

Apart from changing name, we have spent most of this week on design. We have made a

  • color palette

  • logo

  • UI mock-up

We decided to go for a green color because of the association of β€œgo”, β€œsuccess”, β€œgood”.

For the logo we found inspiration in an open door. We integrated the door in the letter β€œn” in Get In. We also include the I to create an association with LN which is used as the base technology in the service.

The app itself will be quite small with only 7 screens (so far). It has one main functionally which is scanning a QR code. The goal here is to create an app where the user does not need to know anything about bitcoin in order to use it. All bitcoin things are handled behind the scenes.
