Pitch: Nostr tutorial for new Japanese users!
In just a few days, Nostrasia will finally be held! There are two main reasons why I participated the "Nostrasia Hackathon" even though I am not a developer.
- I love Nostr and Nostrasia should be a great chance to spread the word of Nostr to more Japanese people.
I knew about Nostr in February 2023 (jack's tweet) and joined on that day, almost 10 months ago. I have been posting notes daily and interacting with many users, both domestic and international, and what I have learned is that on Nostr, you are guaranteed a place where you belong.
Of course, this is because Nostr is a world without censorship, but more than that, it is because there are many users who are taking action to "change the current bad situation," although their aspirations vary. I love the open and passionate worldview of Nostr, and that is why I strongly want as many Japanese people as possible to know about it, so I decided to do what I can to contribute to it.
- You don't have to be a developer to contribute to the development of Nostr and the expansion of its community.
I am not a developer. However, I believe that I can contribute to the development of Nostr and the expansion of its community through my unique strengths. The same goes for my contribution to Bitcoin. Although I am not a developer, I am proud to say that I have tried many things, such as translating into Japanese and writing tutorial articles.
I am writing this entry because I believe that by contributing in the same way to Nostr, I can inspire and engage non-developers like me, and since most of Nostr's users are non-developers like me when it comes to mass adoption, I believe that our works are very important. I am sure that our activities are very important.
My proofs of work (Achievements)
★During the Nostrasia Hackathon
I have accomplished two things this time.
First, I completed the translation of the Japanese version of "Nostr.how (https://nostr.how/jp/what-is-nostr)." I am sure that there are many Japanese users who will know about Nostr for the first time through Nostrasia, so I think it would be very valuable to have an onboarding site like this.
Second, I wrote an article introducing "all Japanese speakers" at Nostrasia (https://bolt.fun/story/1243). I want all new Japanese users to know that the Japanese presence on Nostr is actually very high! I really wanted to write an article in the form of an interview, but I couldn't find the time, so this will be a reminder for next time.

My road map
After the Nostrasia Hackathon, I will continue to contribute to the development of Nostr and the expansion of its community. Specifically, the following activities are planned.
Japanese translation of "NIPs
A group of Nostr-loving volunteers have started a project to translate NIPs into Japanese. I would like to be actively involved in this project as well.
How to get started with “Amethyst”
Now that I've written the tutorial article for Damus, I'm going to write about how to get started with Amethyst, which I believe that onboarding with smartphone app is a very important way for beginners to get started.
“Japanese Translation” for all about Nostr
The number of applications and services related to Nostr is increasing rapidly. However, Japanese translations for the Japanese market have not yet been completed, so I will continue my translation activities.
About Nostrasia Hackathon
The Nostrasia Hackathon brought together 118 participants and 33 projects. This is my first time participating in a hackathon, and it was very interesting to see the activities and progress of so many different projects. It was also very energizing to see so many Bullish friends about Nostr.
Thank you! (I can't wait to see who wins. But all 118 makers are winners💜)
