Pitch: Nostr Serverless API

Typically, data scientists access social media data through well-established APIs and their associated wrappers. We've introduced the Nostr Serverless API (NSA) to recreate this familiar user experience for Nostr.

Nostr's open social graph and public data make it a potential goldmine for budding data scientists and hackers. By bringing these individuals onto Nostr, they will be able to experience the value of Bitcoin in a self-paced, immersive way.

We built NSA because we wanted to use it, but it didn't exist yet. Now that it exists, here are some demos of us playing with it on repilt:

• Sending a simple direct message

• Script to fetch Bitcoin price and DM user

• * Script to semantically search Nostr data hosted in chromaDB

• Script to build a very basic social media "algorithm" (i.e., recommender system) via openAI embeddings, chromaDB, and some very basic linear algebra

R is either #1 or #2 most popular data science programming across most industries, and although it has a thriving community of active users, it is dramatically underserved by the Bitcoin ecosystem (and several other ecosystems too!). So we also built an NSA API wrapper for the R programming language to start helping bridge this gap. Our R library will be submitted to CRAN on August 8th (once they reconvene after their summer break).

We want to get Bitcoin and Nostr into every data scientist's tech stack. As such we are building tools and Video Tutorials that showcase exciting use-cases of these technologies for current and prospective data scientists.
