Paying with lightning

Today I bought some groceries via the lightning network at one of Africa's biggest retailers for the first time. Here are a couple of things I learned:

• I couldn't just use a normal LN app like Breez. I first had to download another app that translates legacy POS QR codes and help you pay with apps like Breez, Muun, etc.

• After I asked several cashiers, I realised they simply don't know what bitcoin is. I learned that I can ask them for a QR code and the heavy lifting is done in the background.

• Transaction went through in a minute or so.

• I paid 78 SATS in transaction fees on a $10 purchase
