Only 10 days to go!
We are now only 10 days away from project submissions closing on Nov 24th. Here's what to expect from the final run of project hacking at #LegendsOfLightning
Project submissions close Nov 24th @ 12:00 UTC!
For the last 6 weeks, makers have been teaming up and hacking solo on their projects for a chance to win some huge bitcoin prizes! We have seen some amazing projects from a range of different industries, specialisations, and corners of the world enter the #LegendsOfLightning tournament. As the project submission deadline gets closer (12:00 UTC on Nov 24th), please make sure you have entered your project through the tournament portal, and don't forget to #BuildInPublic right to the very end! On Nov 28th, we'll announce 8 finalists from each track who will go on to battle it out on Dec 6th, Finals day!
How will submissions work?
-
All projects entered into the tournament via the portal, it will be evaluated by our panel of judges.
-
Judges will be reviewing the project pages as well as your maker profiles (to learn more about the people behind all these cool things being built). So make sure to add your name or nym, roles, and a glamour shot.
-
Lastly, there should be a “Pitch” posted to your project that includes a short 5 minute video summary/pitch which you can embed or link prior to the submission deadline. This video should explain what your project is, what you've built, how you've used bitcoin/lightning, and importantly what will be your next steps. You should also include any relevant links (these could be links to your previous #BuildInPublic articles), as well as additionally providing a traditional pitch deck. More information will be provided on this next week.
More workshops coming your way!
The theme of this tournament is adoption and innovation. We wanted to enable makers like yourself to come up with creative solutions that show off how awesome and USEFUL bitcoin is. And damn you all have delivered. The quality of things being worked on and built during this tournament is just incredible!
Growth Hacking 🚀
Building is just one part of the equation though. It’s important to be able to communicate your vision or solution to others. Not every maker knows how to do this well — but a few folks in the community have offered to organise some workshops to help their fellow makers advance, accelerate, and market their products. Topics will include:
-
#1: Problem definition and value proposition (Thu 17 Nov, 19:00 UTC)
-
#2: Go-to-market strategy (Sun 20 Nov, 19:00 UTC)
-
#3: Marketing and branding (Tue 22 Nov, 19:00 UTC)
Venture Capital & Grant Funding 💸
One of the hardest parts of running a successful company, or project is being able to sustain its development and growth. Many of us makers are putting in the work late at night, alongside a full time job, self funding, all to make our visions come to life. You do it out of passion. But with bear markets, kids and other responsibilities (oh ye and rent due sometimes…), hard decisions need to be made. Community and capital can help keep that fire burning during these times, through either traditional venture capital or crowd funding.
In order to help you figure out your projects next steps, we've organised workshops with VC and crowdfunding specialists from Fulgur Ventures, Lightning Ventures, Stillmark VC, Hivemind, Geyser, and Open Sats.
Our funding workshops will be held the week of Nov 28th. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!
