Nost(rasi)a week #4

The final week of Nostrasia is here. Overall, I feel like I did not have enough time to really participate, engage with others, watch all the live streams, etc. But I managed to get a few things done, and that was the goal.

I just pushed an update to the site. It now renders up to 2 short notes and 1 long note per profile. I really did not want to get into notes because all the other clients focus on this. But the thing is that most people don't do anything else on Nostr (yet), so their profiles are otherwise empty. By showing just a couple of notes, I hope it feels more alive and people click through and connect.

Clicking through requires me to pick a default client. I used Primal and Habla respectively. But, if the profile has recommended handlers, those are respected. So if I recommend Snort as a client for short notes, the link to see more updates will go out to Snort. Don't think it's quiet perfect yet, so this will require some tweaking. I'd also like to respect the logged-in users preferred handlers eventually. And thing is, most profiles don't recommend anything, so almost everyone will be linked out to Primal and Habla.

Point is, we really need to get people to adopt all these other activities for Nostr be all it can be.

Anyhow, note rendering is pretty intricate, so this need to be iterated on. Overall, I think I need to stop adding anything new now, and just refine.

Looks like I need to record a short video for my Nostrasia submission. I'm travelling the next few days, but will try to sneak that in.
