Nostr Hack Pitch

Educating newbies about the rapidly growing bitcoin ecosystem has been focused on the trees, not the forest, has been uncoordinated, often demonstrating short term thinking , Stream Cards provides a taste of the long term, coordinated, and comprehensive education that's needed!

Stream cards is a form of Tourists Visa/Guide/Plug-n-Play Multi-tool. By using a Pattern Language Design approach this LN Bitcoiner Passport leads those new to the realm to powerful tools for us all to use among bitcoin natives and tourists alike.

This personalized LN/Nostr ID card can also be issued as branded company ID/Payroll/Expense account funding cards, that can be programmed to provide granular access to events online and in person, with varying levels of access granted to Management/Staff/VIPs/General Admission participants in one-time events or ongoing business operations. Think Costco Membership Card meets prepaid Mastercard meets Payroll/Stipend/Retail payment card, with a unique public/private communication system built in through the Nostr protocols.

These branded cards can be issued as Proof of Attendance at live events, becoming a functional, not just decorational, form of Proof of Work timestamping entry into the ecosystem. Historically, this was done for live concert tours when the band's t-shirts could only be purchased at the live shows. This PoA could then enable immediate and ongoing communication between all attendees, can be made searchable and authenticatible with an ordinal tying an inscription containing the text files of the Nostr IDs given to all who participated.

Creating and timestamping the data of the LNURL wallet addresses and the Nostr IDs for the attendees of in person events will create a searchable Proof of Work that authenticates, for instance, the team members of the 51 Nostr Hackathon participants and the Judges evaluating these projects.

In the '23 Spring Makers Meetup we created a Nostr Badge to be awarded to those in attendance, but did not time stamp those npubs of the attendees. So there's no way for anyone to prove that this was done at the time of the event.

If awarded some LN sats for my project in this Hackathon, we'll spend some of those sats on transaction fees to provide a timestamped and searchable inscription for all the Nostr Hack participants that provide us their Nostr IDs. I've participated in almost a dozen LN hackathons over the last few years, but have discovered that those links to those events and my submissions cannot be counted on to be available for me to add them to my portfolio of work in this industry.

Not only will creating verifiable and searchable inscriptions provide proof of all our work, it will make the Nostr accounts of all the participants available for years to come. Establishing a personal and business Stream Card data set as a standard method of operations will effectively establish a Nostr ID/npub version of the legacy Yellow Pages Telephone Books. But without the Doxing, tracking, and tracing that happens when publicly sharing our phone numbers and physical addresses.

I imagine this could become a powerful tool for growing and MPoWering all of us in the Bitcoin and Nostr realms.

💯 Features

• Earning LN sats:

  • through live streamed audio/video, as well as texts/phone calls.

  • through Alby, to enable single-sign-on and click-to-pay online integration

  • using Kollider for putting the brakes on short term purchasing power losses due to the inflation caused by unlimited fiat money printing

  • a physical NFC tap-n-pay sending/receiving/authenticating car

🛣️ Roadmap

What I've discovered when trying to include not only the send/receive information on these NFC cards is that the user experience is not very functional as this software/hardware is currently functioning. I can create a send or a receive LNURL for each DIY self-programmed NFC card, but not both in the same card. I've also discovered that I can only include my Bitcoiner Passport personal contact info, but not have the card also open up my LN wallet to send or receive payments.

It seems that programming these cards to do more than just send or receive, enabling them to also include our Nostr IDs, and accounts integrated with our Nostr IDs will require help from someone with more coding skills than I have. No doubt there are trade offs in security when enabling the programming, either done-for-you or done-by-you to include your contact information.

There are already Tapsigner cards being produced by Coinkite that enable NFC 'bearer bonds', that were for example just provided to the Nostrica event. Likewise, the event issued Bolt Card NFC cards branded for this event.

BUT, they have not, perhaps due to the same technical difficulties I've discovered, integrated Nostr IDs/npub and/or other account contact info into those cards. One of the drawbacks of the bitcoin branded cards is that they are obviously what they are, potentially containing money, making them a target for physical theft by thugs with and without badges/uniforms. This is one of the reasons I feel the security trade offs for reprogamming/repurposing blank, or non-bitcoin branded cards, brings features worth using as they provide security through obscurity.

💰 Monetization options

• Cross promotional opportunities between the many different bitcoin/Nostr projects are nearly endless

• New user acquisition for companies and services will provide a steady stream of new participants in these networks growing and strengthening these networks as the number of participants expands exponentially

• Each of the streaming solutions I've included provide not only potential income streams to the new Users, but also to the card issuers through LN routing fees, referral commissions through the included earning Apps like Fountain and Vida, perhaps as well if/when projects like Oshi, The BTC Company, LEDN, SPENDL, or more are integrated into these pattern language recipes

• LN tips coming in from the issued LN Addresses and Zaps from the Nostr accounts can also generate ongoing revenues to the card holders and issuers, as could sats earned if/when LN Cal's calendar scheduling is integrated into these Bitcoin Passports.

• The potential for the Lightning Prism split payments cascades as written about by Dergigi here creates ongoing earning potential as well, that could be programmed to land into these cards, and/or offloaded throught the LN Bits Bolts.exchange extension, which can also move those sats on and off chain as desired

• Incentivization models rewarding desired behaviors can also be easily integrated into this once attendees/employees/peers have established uncensorable communication and transaction channels established
