To drive Bitcoin/lightning scale and adoption, it's important to do the work of abstracting complex elements within the ecosystem and making them easier to use or remember. LINK is a platform that allows you to store public, persisting payment information like Node IDs, xPubs, BOLT 12 Offers and tie them to a phonebook-model system people can remember with a name and image. This is great for frequent payments, like donations but also for the occasional beer-refund without having the other party send you a payment request each time.
