Introducing PlebAI, the real Open AI

When future historians reflect on history, they will identify March 2023 as a pivotal moment in human history. While I injured my knee while skiing in March 2023, the truly historic event was the release of GPT-4 by OpenAI. This release demonstrated for the first time how AI could outperform in areas of reasoning, retention, and coding which was never thought possible before. Had OpenAI been genuinely open, it would have represented an even more monumental milestone for humanity. However, it was "Closed AI". The datasets it trained on, the weights and biases inputs, the source code, and the authority to operate the model were all controlled by a select few in a comfortable Silicon Valley office. Astonishingly, such a transformative tool capable of altering our civilization's trajectory was in the hands of fewer than 200 individuals. Moreover, they received significant investments from for-profit entities, including Microsoft. As a bitcoiner, and open-source developer, I felt compelled to delve deeper into this issue. Thankfully, I wasn't alone. A movement to open-source the models, datasets, weights, and biases quickly gained traction, leading many developers and companies to begin #BuildingInPublic. They aimed to develop large language models that, in some instances, even surpassed GPT-4's capabilities.

During this period, our team was working on lightning and Nostr. This experience made it a logical step for us to shift our attention to AI and develop a robust open-source alternative. As a result, we joined the #AI4ALL hackathon, where PlebAI was conceived.

GOAL: Create an open-source, permission-less AI accessible to anyone through the open and permission-less The Nostr messaging protocol, with payments facilitated by the equally open and permission-less lightning payment infrastructure.

At the #AI4ALL hackathon, we launched PlebAI with a few agents and showed the world what open source AI can provide. We collaborated closely with our partners, leveraging various open datasets, including 200,000 real-world doctor-patient interactions, to fine-tune the LLama2 model for use with DocGPT. Over the past two months, the open-source community has made notable strides in training large language models and releasing them openly. This transparency allows anyone to review the training datasets and even employ these models for commercial activities without licensing constraints.

Last month, we significantly revamped the website, integrating these models and introducing over 60 specialized AI agents. PlebAI now features over 60 AI agents and supports both text and image generation. Users can even craft their own AI agent and share it with the public. Each AI agent utilizes distinct system prompts and datasets, enabling tailored responses without requiring users to craft detailed prompts for the LLMs. For example, DocGPT is an AI agent that has been trained on 200,000 genuine doctor-patient interactions, allowing individuals to direct specific health-related questions to it. Moreover, there are agents such as Orange Pill GPT for bitcoin-related queries, while Agent Green serves as an exhaustive resource on cannabis-related subjects. Already these agents are used over 5k interactions by many users.

Participation in Legend of Lightning Vol 2 and Nostrasia Hackathon.

Since we are building at the intersection of Bitcoin/Lightning, Nostr, and AI, we are officially entering both hackathons to participate, learn, build, and ultimately win.

Work Completed So far:

• Fully functional PlebAI website with over 60 AI agents

• Ability to interact with these agents directly on Nostr

• Ability to pay for using lightning wallet

• Ability for anyone to create their own AI agent and monetize Value4value

• Enable Nostr NIP07 login to use with PlebAI website

• Contribute to NIP-90 DVM to create the standard for communicating with AI agents

• PlebAI-SDK for use AI agents on any website

• Make PlebAI App available on Start9 and Umbrel where anyone can run the AI models and PlebAI inside the same machine.
