GM everyone! This is the fourth update of our Legend of Lightning Project: Data Buffets/CASCDR (described initially here).

TLDR: we are building an open standard for offering, discovering and consuming Lightning paid APIs (L402s) with nostr for broadcast & discovery. It's a lot like Zapier but with Lightning & Nostr and without any of the rent seeking or surveillance typical in today's digital economy.

Upgraded Service Provider Source Code Is Live! The new and improved template is now available!

Want to stack sats? You can run a pass through service that lets users rent out your API keys (without exposing them) in exchange for sats! The user gets to buy services in small quantities anonymously for pennies & you get to stack non-KYC sats. More broadly, you expand the anonymity set for users AND you are creating a competitive a free market of services. Everyone wins.

Get on the monorepo and take a shot at deploying your service! Keep in mind the NIP-105 spec, is in flux so we will be releasing updates frequently.

Modularity Is a Priority

Compared to our previous release of the source code in September, the biggest improvement we’ve created is the separation of server code and service code, meaning all services are modular. This way, if ya’ll want to add a service we haven’t created a solution for, it’s pretty straight forward to create one yourself!

Additionally, the server code is all built within a Bun monorepo to make editing and creating tools for the Data Buffet super easy and developer friendly - gone are the days of obnoxious package linking and resolution. So, all in all, pretty exciting stuff!

CASCDR Update!

This week we went ahead and released an interface that makes the Whisper transcription services easier. Want to get a transcript for a local file? You can upload it. Want to transcribe a file out in the cloud somewhere? Just drop a link and CASCDR will get it doneee!

Roadmap:

We are actively building template code for service providers & clients to make the experience of using NIP105 Data Buffets a great experience.

Our goal is to make it as easy and palatable as possible for people to take themselves out of the surveillance economy but still use the state of the art.
