Week Overview

In the past week, my focus was on implementing the Nostr badge system on the BOLT.FUN platform. We initiated discussions to identify potential challenges and outlined the process for this exciting new feature. Our progress was transparently showcased on the BOLT.FUN platform, where we engaged in stimulating conversations about various badge ideas and concepts. Additionally, I had the opportunity to design a pitch deck for LNbits and BOLT.FUN.

Challenges

The most significant challenge we encountered was recognizing the UI and UX issues that would need to be addressed during the badge issuance process. Collaborating with MTG, I worked on mapping out the user flow, explaining the journey from badge creation to a maker claiming and sharing it. I generated multiple design concepts aligning with our branding and proposed names for different badges. We also leveraged AI tools to boost our creativity and visual direction, which proved highly beneficial.

Progress

Throughout this journey, I gained invaluable experience in the practice of building in public. I learned to effectively communicate my ideas to fellow makers and was receptive to their suggestions for refining our badge designs. My collaboration with MTG allowed us to streamline the user journey, providing insights into my role as a designer, encompassing both the visual aspects of badges and the actual UX of the process.

Plans

Looking ahead, our plan is to continue developing this exciting new feature alongside makers. We have two upcoming hackathons on the horizon, promising an array of design tasks related to scheduling and the creation of social media post graphics. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
