Bitcoin's Heart
The why behind creating tools for education
One of the beautiful aspects of the bitcoin community is how people exchange bitcoin education, which often goes beyond the books and into practice. One day you hear of someone explaining an idea and the constructive feedback around it, the next you'll be testing a product or practice. It is an environment alive with growth & activity.
Bitcoin & lightning workshops take place in niches here and there, all year long. App builders keep an open ear to issues and solutions they can implement. UX and UI issues are looked upon to improve people's experience of bitcoin. People are aware of world issues and how they affect people, sharing knowledge on social media and in real life. A bitcoiners' life's about building, learning together, and forming lifetime bonds.
It is through these word-of-mouth education that bitcoin's heart spreads across the globe. Its heartbeat spaced in about 10min blocks.
For those who know bitcoin, it is a highly principled technology with a strong foundation. Bitcoin is unique on so many levels. Yet, so many negative stories swirl around it, creating both a sense of mystery and a scary front which is often a barrier to adoption and best practices.
Symbolism is powerful, but it can infiltrate an idea into our minds that is far different from reality.
In the spirit of the upcoming White Paper birthday & Halloween, Deconstructing Bitcoin+Tech's "Antidote 2 Fear" is taking those cultural symbols associated with this time of year and adding to their symbolism by explaining bitcoin's qualities and helping dispel fears.
